Finally Finnick!
It's finally official! Sam Claflin will play Finnick Odair in ‘Catching Fire,’ the ‘Hunger Games’ sequel. The ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ actor was tapped for the plum role over a month ago, so the news is not a huge surprise…but hey, it's finally official! The actor joins a slew of new cast members who have been announced over the past weeks. The movie will start shooting in Atlanta, Georgia, and will also film in Hawaii.

Slow Burning ‘Fire’
Lately we've been so busy talking about Katniss, the girl who was on fire, that we almost forgot about ‘The Girl Who Played With Fire’—the upcoming sequel to ‘Girl With a Dragon Tattoo.’ EW has learned that the screenplay is still being worked on and casting won't begin until it's complete. Which means that it'll be quite some time before the movie finally hits theaters—at least until 2014, by MTV News's calculations. Which in turn means that it'll be quite some time before Rooney Mara can take out those piercings!

All the expendable ladies, put your hands up...
And speaking of butt-kicking chicks like Katniss and Lisbeth, get ready for a whole film full of 'em! Hot on the heels of the explosive U.S. box office debut of ‘Expendables 2,’ Variety reports, an all-female action ensemble movie, modeled after Sly and his crew, is in the works. Which female action stars would you like to see join forces and whup ass?

Weekly casting news roundup
- Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will battle Chris Hemsworth as baddie Algrim the Strong in the ‘Thor’ sequel ‘Thor: The Dark World,’ the Hollywood Reporter reports. And Kat Dennings, who appeared in the first flick, will return as Darcy Lewis.

- Mila Kunis, James Franco, and Casey Affleck are all in talks to join Liam Neeson and Olivia Wilde in ‘Third Person,’ which is set in Rome, Paris, and New York. It starts shooting in Rome later this year, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

- Also per THR, Zoe Saldana has landed a juicy part: the title role in ‘Nina,’ a biopic about the legendary jazz singer Nina Simone. Since she's best-known for the F/X-heavy ‘Avatar,’ it'll be nice for Zoe to show audiences her dramatic acting chops.

- Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, the 4-year-old daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, will play the young princess Aurora (Elle Fanning plays the future Sleeping Beauty in older form) in ‘Maleficent.’ Coincidentally, her mom has the title role as the evil queen. But surely her famous parents didn't pull any strings to hook her up … Vivienne just did an amazing screen test. Right?
